Learning: This is very important part of your child's day. It is a
time of day when they choose what they wish to do. Social skills are increased
as children learn to share and play fairly. Imagination and self worth
are developed through their roll playing in the kitchen, and tool bench
areas. Creativity is encouraged with the use of art materials and blocks.
Small motor skills are developed with the use puzzles. The children in
the 3 day program also have the option of going to the listening center,
putting on earphones and listening to a variety of story tapes, or going
into the computer room and working on a program dealing with literature,
math or the alphabet.
Center Time:
Some mornings instead of choosing where they wish to go, the children
are divided into four groups and directed to a certain center. The centers
in our school are as follows:
- Alice's Wonderland
- computers and books, listening center and science area.

Garage - trains, cars, trucks, large blocks, large blocks and large
manipulatives

up what they have been using teaches them cooperation, responsibility
and respect for someone else's property.
10:00-10:30 am:
- Pledge of Allegiance
- Rug Time - sharing,
show 'n tell, daily information, general discussion and story. Sharing

is a special quiet time. The books that we choose to read represent
the best of the new publications and cherished classics. Most stories
have a connection with the theme of the day. It is our hope that children
will develop a love for reading they will carry wiith them the rest
of their lives.
- Snack time: A snack
is provided after storytmie. It usually consists of crackers and juice.
Menus for the month are posted on the parent's board in the outer hallway.
